No, not me specifically. I'm speaking in generalities here.

[Boy, it is a good thing this isn't in person. Joseph would be the one sweating.]

Like I said, everyone is wired differently. Some people are okay with a more open relationship, where they're devoted to one another but don't expect exclusivity. Others are more exclusive, but also more understanding if an emergency should come up. [And, you know... necessitate an emergency bang.]

It's really about what you are personally comfortable with.

Joseph's answer doesn't seem to be working for him, either, so he sighs and definitely sounds frustrated on the other end, even if he realizes it's not Joseph's fault ]

Right, so it depends on the person. I don't think it's a good idea, you know, tying yourself with someone in here. If I was dating or just — in a relationship — I'd wanna be just theirs, you know...?

Even taking that aside, I don't think this would work out. The other person likes me too — er, I think, I dunno if he like like me ... but it's a little complicated, and I don't think it'd be smart to ask him out.

[ There's another sigh, and then finally he continues ]

Yeah. I understand that. I'm not the kind of person who could be happy in an open relationship under normal circumstances. [Of course, these circumstances are anything but normal.

And he's not even really in a relationship, technically... kind of.]

You could try talking to them about it, if that would make you feel better. Get it out there and try to decide together.

[At Josuke's question, he chuckles a little sheepishly.]

Well. I've taken the third option-- the one where I keep my feelings to myself. So I'm about at the same point you are, actually.

It's such a bizarre situation that it's too simple to even say my feelings are private, at this point.

But yes. I plan to find a way to manage. I always have.

If I think about it, I'm pretty sure the other person figured it out, but I don't wanna put anyone in a situation where they have to seriously think about this as well.

And I mean, I wanna be happy, but there's two people in this scenario, so I gotta think of the other party too — you get me?

Oh yes. I definitely understand that. It feels more important to protect other people than it is to make yourself happy.

Oh, yeah, you know I mentioned I got family here earlier, right? There's some distant relatives, and then there's my father too. He's way younger, though.

Oh, they're all your family? I've seen a few of them around, but I wasn't quite sure of the connection.

I'd say it's a good thing, but I don't think any of us really wish this place on other people. All the same, it's probably nice to have people you're familiar with around.

Huh ... Well, I ain't too familiar with them. Jonathan's supposed to be my father's grandfather, and Giorno is ... something else.

Jojo — my father, huh, his name is Joseph Joestar — is not much older than me now, I mean, back at home he was 80 when I met him.

At this point I know him as much as I know you. But it ain't too bad. Getting to know them, I mean.

But still, not quite familiarity. Which is why you asked me instead of your father.
